The Republic is due to get a 2011 care package for the popular, G Series gaming laptops. The RoG G74Sx has been upgraded with the latest Intel ‘Huron River’ platform that features either a second generation Intel Core i5 or i7 CPU and the latest Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M graphics all packed into another, thoroughly unique chassis.

Combined with a 120Hz, 17 inch display, the Nvidia graphics also means Nvidia 3D-Vision is included as standard too, while Blu-ray 3D movies can be played on your HDTV via the included HDMI 1.4 port on the side.
ASUS also highlights that despite the cutting edge kit, the laptop should remain cool at all times thanks to its unique thermal design that draws cool air in the front, through the laptop and out the back. Design tweaks for LAN gamers
The G74Sx design should alsoappeal to upgraders too as there is quick access hatch to the twointernal hard drive bays, while the internal memory slots can support up to 16GB of memory. On the top side, gamers should benefit from the backlit keyboard in low-lit LAN tournaments – although you shouldn’t need to look! – and the separated keyboard, number pad and cursor key cluster means it’s more like a PC than a laptop, which means you can keep more of your native gaming edgerather than relearning muscle movements.
